Getting Help
  • Get to a safe place.
  • Call a friend, family member or the police for help.
  • Call the Rape Crisis Center for support and information.
  • Go to a hospital for treatment of external and or internal injuries, testing for pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and evidence collection.

Remember…

  • Don't shower, bathe, douche, change clothes or straighten up the area. You will destroy evidence you may need. Evidence can last for over 72 hours. Don't destroy evidence now, even if you don't want to prosecute. You may change your mind later.
  • Reporting to the police is your choice.
  • Consider seeking a counselor, especially one that works with rape survivors.
